Domino Wars

In a world of similarly shaped bottles, how is one to know which is which when you can’t read the label? When you bump one on the shelf and it dominos all of the rest of them onto the floor? Over the years I have had many suggestions from different people: buy different brands so the bottles are different shapes; put different thickness elastics on each bottle; label them with braille. I never really found a solution that worked for me though, I like having my same brand products, don’t like elastics on things, and braille labels need to be put on every time you get a new bottle.

Seeing those shampoo and conditioner dispensers that they have in hotel rooms was always really cool to me. Each thing has its own button, the buttons never move, and you just refill it when it runs out. It never really occurred to me that anyone could just buy these dispensers and put them up in their home bathrooms, not sure why, but that option just didn’t occur to me…until just recently.

So as usual, I did my Amazon research, and came across this shampoo/conditioner/soap dispenser. The set up needs some visual aid, unless you are really adventurous, but other than that it is very easy to fill/refill, the buttons work nicely, and you could probably even stick braille labels where the print ones go if you wanted to. It even comes off the wall nicely for refilling, leaving just the back plate attached.

So gone are the days of domino bottles, having to reorganize the shower shelf by using my phone to read the labels. And it makes cleaning easier too, no trying to move bottles around to clean behind/under, then put them back in the right spot…just clean around the square that is stuck on the wall.
